AMD is killing it!

I was kicking myself when I bought AMD at $12— see in 2016 AMD was around $3 a share. Now that was before Spectre, Meltdown. In 2016 the CPU market was in a lull, after many iterations of the same i7s vs the FX series- consumers were unimpressed.

Fast forward to today- and you can see in the graph, Ryzen and Thread-ripper have lived up to their expectations. As enterprise applications move to container-centric environments and virtualization becomes commonplace, threads and cores matter more and more.

AMD is absolutely dominating the consumer market, and at a price-point. Having just tested a middle of the road AMD APU (Ryzen 3400G) in a system with no video card, I wont be switching to (or recommending) Intel any time soon!
