Tech with Tim (youtube) has a great tutorial on writing a chatbot in python. I did that, and it’s the first piece of working code I’ve written, which is a big accomplishment for me.
Last month I bought a cheat synthesizer and made a tacky song in Audacity. While it’s a versatile program, it’s not the greatest DAW. Being an Idiot, I’ve shied away from DAWs and how complicated they can be, until this week. I installed LMMS and I made it make noise, and now there’s a link in the footer to my soundcloud, which was basically dead until now.
I’m due to edit another video for DuoTV, and I have yet to dig into the footage, but I’ve replaced my editing NVMe SSD (my 300 gig intel went toast last year) and sooner or later I’ll likely purchase DaVinci Resolve or something similar so I can do fully featured editing. Normally I speak SIP, but there are so few people that do- and we’re trying to run a production company here.
I was kicking myself when I bought AMD at $12— see in 2016 AMD was around $3 a share. Now that was before Spectre, Meltdown. In 2016 the CPU market was in a lull, after many iterations of the same i7s vs the FX series- consumers were unimpressed.
Fast forward to today- and you can see in the graph, Ryzen and Thread-ripper have lived up to their expectations. As enterprise applications move to container-centric environments and virtualization becomes commonplace, threads and cores matter more and more.
AMD is absolutely dominating the consumer market, and at a price-point. Having just tested a middle of the road AMD APU (Ryzen 3400G) in a system with no video card, I wont be switching to (or recommending) Intel any time soon!
The AMD Athlon 200GE/220GE/240GE is a CPU with a GPU integrated. This is an absolutely excellent choice if you’re dipping your toes into socket AM4. With Dual core/ 4 threads, it’s a great starter CPU for 720p gaming. At $55/$69/$75 USD respectively (Air cooler included,) It’s insanely cheap, and of course, wildly upgrade-able if you want DDR4 and an unlocked CPU.
If you are in the market, This is about a good as a deal that it gets for an entry level CPU.
Apparently comcast is blocking discord:
